The Wedge Project: A resident inquired about construction schedules and potential road closures; staff clarified that major permits have not yet been issued (3:32 - 5:58). Sheriff Report: Sheriff’s Report Sergeant Boragno reported on May statistics: 66 moving citations, 3 parking citations, and zero reported traffic/bicycle collisions (14:07 - 14:41). Committee members discussed parking concerns for the upcoming "PV Palooza" event, noting that current signage is insufficient for enforcement (16:10 - 23:35). Town Staff Report No report or update was received from the Public Works Department for June 2026 The Town Manatger announced the hiring of an interim town engineer who will assist with encroachment permits and utility work oversight (24:06 - 24:58). Committee members requested that future road repairs ensure flat surfaces for cyclist safety (25:37 - 26:31). Regular Committee Business: Approval of June Meeting Minutes: The committee moved to approve the June 5th meeting minutes with amendments. Motion seconded and carried (13:43 - 14:04). Ongoing Committee Business: E-bike/Trail Safety: Ongoing discussion regarding illegal motorized vehicle use on town trails; committee discussed the need for better signage and potential grant applications (27:06 - 32:32). Alternative Transport: Discussion on senior mobility resources, including the library's senior mobility guide (33:58 - 37:48). Speed Trailer: The trailer is operational; members plan to scout locations near the school for data collection in August (38:11 - 40:26). Wildlife Signage: A subcommittee (Pat and Ed) is working on a proposal for wildlife-themed art/signage. They are looking into funding options, including potential private donations or a design contest, with a goal to present to the town council (45:32 - 54:22). It was agreed that a draft recommendation to Town Council would be prepared for the August meeting. General Plan & Safety Element ● The committee discussed the town’s new draft safety element (0:48). It was noted that this draft lacks input from safety-related committees and does not adequately address road circulation or parking management, which are priorities for the group (2:54-4:53). 2. PV Palooza Planning ● Event Details: PV Palooza is rescheduled for August 29, 2026 (8:35). The organizers aim to maintain a similar scale to last year (9:11). ● Traffic & Parking: Strong recommendations were made to utilize the Midpen meadow for parking to keep vehicles off local streets (16:11-17:24). The committee will coordinate with volunteer Phil Bar and the Sheriff’s department regarding signage and access maps (18:59-22:20). ● Volunteers: John is seeking a volunteer lead for traffic and logistics (12:30). 3. Minutes Approval ● The minutes for the April 2026 and May 1, 2026 meetings were formally approved (32:27-33:16). 4. Sheriff’s Report ● Officer Nick Boragno requested a one-month delay on reporting collision/citation data to allow for accurate data synchronization (33:27-34:55). The committee acknowledged this adjustment. 5. Public Comment: Shawee Pass ● Lauren Frenz, a local parent, requested speed control measures (such as speed bumps or enhanced signage) on Shawnee Pass due to persistent speeding and near-misses (40:43-43:13). The committee agreed to support a letter advocating for these safety measures (44:04-46:58). 6. Ongoing Committee Business ● E-bike Safety: A presentation on e-bike classification, state-level legislation (AB 2595), and the need for parental education was delivered (52:19-58:20). ● Public Works: It was noted that the Public Works department is currently not available to represent the Town at BPTS meetings(39:20). 7. Adjournment ● The committee voted to postpone the July 3rd meeting due to the holiday week, rescheduling the next extraordinary meeting for July 10, 2026 (109:41-110:41).
